Foreign Policy had a recent cover story on The End Of Oil... by which they mean the end of everybody needing oil to drive their cars around. The story's a bit long and ponderous (and, quite honestly, it's so far from becoming actually relevent that I'm going to wait a couple of years before I read it properly).
