This month's Smithsonian magazine has a wonderful, whimsical (that's my new favourite pretentious word) piece on this famous photograph from Woodstock. They've tracked down the photographer – the delightfully-named Burk Uzzle (stand aside Wackford Squeers!) – and reunited him with the couple in the picture.
It's a great little story... and it's a great little excuse to have a look through Uzzle's portfolio, which contains some wonderfully whimsical (there's that word again!) portraits of weird Americana.
